Mark Harris and Dr Emile Mohammed Dr Emile Mohammed is the consultant nephrologist and Head of Nephrology services at the island’s tertiary care hospital, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and is responsible for all aspects of clinical care at The Dialysis Clinic (Barbados). He is internationally trained and the depth of his renal training ranges from King’s College Hospital, London to the Royal Perth Hospital, Western Australia. He has over 15-years experience with haemodialysis. Over the last 5-years, he has been instrumental in developing nephrology services in Barbados, including the expansion and upgrade of the haemodialysis programme, the development of a peritoneal dialysis programme and more recently, he has led a team to successfully re-start renal transplantation (see news). His nursing staff have more than 50-years of dialysis experience between them.
The Dialysis Clinic (Barbados) uses Fresenius 2008K machines and high flux ‘Optiflux’ dialysers. Fresenius Medical Care is a market leader in dialysis equipment and products, they combine the clinical expertise of the Renal Therapies Group (RTG), and the research and development strength of their renal products technologies division to develop proven clinically cost-efficient treatment enhancement tools that will have a positive impact on dialysis therapy.
When making a booking at The Dialysis Clinic (Barbados), we will require certain medical details to be confirmed by your doctor plus confirmation within one month of your dialysis treatment date that you are medically certified free from MRSA, HIV and Hepatitis. The Dialysis Clinic (Barbados) offers its patients a comfortable and relaxing environment. The clinic is equipped with cable television, wireless internet and both 220 and 110 voltage supply should you want to bring your laptop. We also offer complimentary fresh (low potassium) fruit juices whilst you are at the clinic. The clinic is on the ground level and within 5 metres of its own disability car parking spot which makes transfer to and from the clinic very convenient for anyone with disabilities. We can also assist with your arrangements for your transportation needs to and from the clinic.
